Module Description: The aim of this module is to teach technical abilities and instil the fundamental skills in shooting and editing video. Students will build on the basic knowhow acquired in first year. Group work will develop and improve student's skills in the varying roles of a basic production crew.

Indicative Content
Video Camera Work
Various aspects surrounding technical details relating to the video camera will be taught to the students. They will be tested on the basic skills around framing and camera movement.
Non Linear Editing
Students will be refreshed on the technical aspects of non linear editing software they have learned in first year. They will edit together various sequences from the shots they have recorded.
TV Theory
A wide range of television production theory and technical knowhow will be taught to the students, along with a large amount of related terminology that TV and Media students are expected to know.
Audio Production
The capturing and editing of broadcast quality audio will be emphasised.

Students will work together in a group productions in order to produce a variety of videos for specified audiences. The improvement of camera and editing skills will be monitored closely. Preproduction skills and the various roles of a production crew will also be developed.
