Module Description: The aim of this module is to give an introduction to the disciplines of management and communications. Within the management section, the students will describe the nature of Management and analyse the business environment within which all organisations operate. Principle management theorists' contributions are described and evaluated. Guidelines are described in terms of starting a business. Key current management challenges are recognised and explained. The communications' section will introduce students to key principles of communication, communication barriers and a range of communication approaches and skills required for the business environment. Students will also be provided with essential academic skills.
